About the role:

Make a difference to people's lives every day with a rewarding career at Porthaven Care Homes. Whether you are new to the care sector or have experience, working within a Porthaven care home can be incredibly fulfilling.

As a Activities and Wellbeing Coordinator you will co-ordinate and support the planning, creation and delivery of our home's leisure and wellness programme which aims to encourage our residents to participate in a wide range of engaging activities and hobbies. You will take the lead in ensuring a programme of individual activities is available to enhance the lives and improve the holistic wellbeing of our residents.  You will spend time getting to know our residents and tailor activities and leisure pursuits to deliver person-centred care.

About you

You don't need a background in care as we will provide a full training programme including NAPA Level 2, progression towards NAPA Level 3, and Awards for Supporting Activity Provision in Social Care.

You will be well organised and able to demonstrate the leadership qualities we look for in our Activities and Wellbeing Coordinators.  You will need excellent computer literacy, and reading and writing skills, and you will be able to communicate clearly with a wide variety of people, including our residents.  Above all else, you will have a genuine interest in active ageing for older people.

Weekend availability is essential as our Activity and Wellbeing Coordinators work alternate weekends.

The successful candidate will be subject to the provision of satisfactory references and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and they must be authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

  • The care and support shown to my mother have been exceptional during her time here. They have shown the utmost respect and dignity towards her. The actual home is excellent in décor and the staff are always welcoming and cheerful. Would highly recommend.
